Abstract

Speech databases serve as the cornerstone for developing automatic speech synthesis and recognition systems, as well as speaker identification across various languages and dialects. Typically, the elements of a speech database consist of audio files recorded from individuals speaking in the desired language or dialect. The more comprehensive a speech database is, the more it contributes to the development of high-performance human-machine interaction systems. Given the lack of a dedicated speech database for Iraqi dialects, this research involved creating a speech database specifically for Iraqi phonetics. The database includes recordings from thirty-five male and female volunteers representing different Iraqi dialects. The recordings were conducted under professional recording conditions to study the impact of dialectal diversity on speech characteristics.
